Concept Design through Implementation*

The Brief: Lacking much of the glitz and glam of their office counterparts, Google lab spaces can easily be mistaken for an afterthought. So when I was presented with this opportunity, I wanted to give this lab a moment to shine and the crowd seemed ready. Rooted in a story of ideas coalescing through hard work and collaboration, and based on a triangular grid instead of a square one, the result is an abstracted logo made of over 400 individual dimensional and printed pieces and a matching printed lobby graphic.

Our final graphic spanned 150′

Showing the varying depths of colored pieces. Red: 3″, blue: 2″, green and yellow: 1″. There were also corresponding printed colored pieces as part of this design.

Alternate version of the final graphic and detail of logo. This version was 12″ deep and required 10 layers of acrylic to achieve the design intent.
