Concept Design to design intent

The Brief: The Strivr headquarters will be home to a thriving community of software and hardware designers, programmers, sales people, production artists, fabricators, managers and executives all working toward one goal. It should convey the values of Teamwork, Grit and Passion, it must speak to the culture of always striving for excellence and be imbued with an authenticity that is exclusively and explicitly Strivr.

At its core, Strivr stands for one thing: Elevating performance through immersive technology. This message will permeate the space by leveraging the graphics and interior design programs to create a unified sense of place. And, while immersive technology is the cornerstone of life at Strivr, technology for technology’s sake is not. Strivr is not flashy, it is not smoke and mirrors — it is, in fact, all about function over style.

Our integrated design strategy is to develop a narrative throughout the space for each audience type and touch point. Visitors to the space will have a unique experience based on their audience type, but every one will leave with the same lasting impression of what it means to work for and with Strivr.

create an environment that is explicitly Strivr.

– From the project design goals.

The Journey

In order to create a sense of being within a virtual world as you navigated the real world within the STRIVR office, we treated every surface as a possible design canvas, activating edges and vertices. The result is a space filled with geometry lined in LED strips, lenticular walls, and graphics that wrap from the floor to the ceiling

Reception to All-Hands

Reception is an unattended arrival lobby and so placemaking graphics in the form of dimensional painted letter forms, digitally printed wall covering, and vinyl graphics, guide visitors to the Welcome Station-an iPad, which will notify employees that their guests have arrived.

Crossing through the main connecting hallway in the office brings visitors by this brand element: direct-printed, edge-lit acrylic blades. The background is a metallic wall covering with custom printed grid. A gradient of brand colors glow with internal light.

The Green Wall (are you even a real Silicon Valley startup without one?) and the Values Wall flank the entry to the All-Hands area. Company Values are vinyl lettering and Solid wood letters, fastened flush to the wall.

The All-Hands Area backdrop serves as the stage for company meetings. A projector will drop down, in front of this actual stone wall, when needed.

Conference Rooms

Conference room naming is based on previous locations of Strivr offices. Executed in two variations: positive and negative text, using dusted crystal vinyl, applied second surface.

Conference room interiors received custom printed wall coverings using variations of these two graphics.

Offices

Private offices received a bespoke pattern of warped mesh dots, printed in 50% white on clear film. Each office received a unique dot wave.

The Ops Room

The beating heart of the beast, is a structure within the larger office, wrapped in programmed LED lighting, in brand colors. This area is not on the path of any visitors, however, this sits in the corner of the office as a beacon for Strivr brand.
